Marc Viola

GUITARIST, SONGWRITER, INSTRUCTOR

Marc began his guitar career in high school, playing in rock bands performing songs by Jimi Hendrix, Rush, Led Zeppelin and The Police to name a few, as well as original material of his own. He soon developed a love for jazz and improvised music, studying under noted jazz guitarist Peter Rogine, and went on to attend college at Binghamton University, where he was a member of the nationally recognized a cappella group, The Binghamton Crosbys.

After college, Marc formed the original roots rock band, Ready in 10. The group has played with such acts as Fall Out Boy, Incubus, The Goo Goo Dolls, Poison and Rusted Root, and in 2006 they played at the prestigious, invitation-only South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin Texas. His original song, “One More Chance”, won a top prize at the International Acoustic Music Awards in 2008, and several of Marc’s original works can be heard nationwide on satellite radio and MTV. In addition to songwriting, Marc performs regularly in solo, trio and band formats, playing shows in styles ranging from Metal to Jazz to Doo-Wop!

With every lesson the students at Lot More Guitar Studio benefit from Marc's uniquely broad experience in songwriting, musical theory and performance. His passion for sharing his knowledge of guitar has helped hundreds of students to achieve their musical goals, and his fun and patient approach make him the perfect partner on your lifelong journey with the guitar.
